That is beautiful. It sounds old-timey. Is there a name for that style?

I reckon it counts as 3-finger Scruggs... I try to pick out the melody separate from the rolls and always gotta throw in some pinches! Glad you enjoyed it.

There is something different about it. And I think it would be very good for accompanying singing.

I mostly play at and for church. I'll play during the congregational singing and for "specials". I usually play with a couple of guitar players, but every now and then a blessed mandolin drops on the scene.

I tried to copy what you're doing. It seems like it's in B flat, but maybe not capoed? I was able to play the first part by playing a B flat chord, and with no capo and no 5th string capo. I am not at all sure that's what you're doing, so I thought I would ask before trying to continue.
Thank you! This is so beautiful, and it sounds different than typical bg banjo.

Totally capoed on the 3rd fret, and 5th string on the 8th. I'll try to make out a TAB with tuxguitar.

Ok, I am starting to understand. When I played in B flat with no capo I was getting a similar effect, since you capo the 5th at 8. A tab would be wonderful, although I feel guilty if you're doing all that work just for me. But I'm sure others would want it also.
And I hope you don't mind, but I am trying to figure out how to copy the style in general. To me, it sounds like a cross between Scruggs style and clawhammer. Maybe it has a clawhammer-like rhythm? Or it's the way you use the 5th string?
I think maybe you invented a new style!

Fantastic job if I say so myself.

Great song: one of my favorites. Pretty playing with nice relaxed rhythm in the right hand.

Nicely done. Enjoyed it much. I have played it in church with my arrangement, like yours a whole lot better. Great song, great picking.
