Turlough O’Carolan. Another of Carolan’s patrons was Baptist Johnston of Tully, County Monaghan. He was High Sheriff of that county in 1728. He also was a Member of Parliament for the Borough of Monaghan from 1747 to 1753. This lively tune was learned from the playing of Tom Hall, who shares some of the responsibility for our formation as a band.
