These are two tunes my Dad learned when taking guitar lessons through the WPA in the 1930's in Linton, Indiana from a man named Carl Cole. My Dad says Carl Cole wrote the Greasy Dog Schottische. The Rustic Dance Schottische is traditional.

Forgot to mention - the instrument - a "Made For Trade" Lyon & Healy 5-string circa 1870's with a brass heal plate label "Macke & Company Artist's Grand". The Macke Music store existed in downtown Rochester, NY from the mid 1800's to the early 1900's.
