Partial recording of a new tune I'm working on, recorded on my Epihone MB200 with the "WaldoTone" wooden tone ring insert. I think the wood insert gave it a somewhat warmer tone. Definitely not a Masterclone, but then, that's not the sound I'm looking for. The Complete Rondo will have the Form ABACADACABA. This recording only has ABACA, but it's enough to get an idea. No effects, reverb, echo or anythng else added.

Looks like the operation was a success. Had I not been informed ahead of time, I would not know it was a simple bottlecap banjo.

Nice tune! I like the sound of the Waldotone too. It has a very nice clarity without the the nasty overtones so typical of bottlecap banjos. The ring insert really tamed it. Great thinking out of the box on that project!!

Thanks, Art. I believe you and Jerry and Mike Gregory probably wrote the book on banjos thinking outside the box.
I'm well pleased with the results. Now I just need to keep playing the tune enough thath I don't have to think about it and get a complete recording. I've got a mazurka in the works too.

Al, none of my chanters have the range that tune requires, but I'll post a different waltz on bagpipes if you like.
