Pretty sound. I don't get to hear that instrument very often. Did you do a "multi-track" recording to get the jingle bells?

I love the banjola.

I used real jingle bells, recorded 1 track, then duplicated the track offset by 1 beat to get the alternating stereo effect.

Sounds advanced. You must have much experience with varying recording methods. It makes for a unique and pretty sound.

I have more time than experience. I'm retired and bought myself an Apple MacBook Pro for my birthday last April and have been going crazy with GarageBand. It was a little screwy to figure out at first, but now I've gotten used to it and you can do some pretty cool things with it. The round I recorded, "Nix Waltzing a Round" (I think it's here on BHO) was just a single track duplicated four times on four tracks with alternating sound placement. I actually created it for banjola, (the one here?), banjo, mandolin, and octave mandolin and they each have their own character.

Sounds incredibly interesting and rewarding. Thanks for the info. Several Hangouters have GarageBand.

If you have a Mac, it's wonderful and cheap... less than $20. I have it on my iPod & iPad too. I used it to record my entire CD.

I posted my 1st grade pictures on my home page.
