Used a drum pad from an electronic drum set as the banjo head. Jacked into a small amp, and played into my computer mic.

And--- I noticed you not only spelled "FACE" as "phase", but you also typed "FT" instead of "TT" in the other word, turning in into "shiFter"!
Twas naught but the banjo on that topic, played into a little HARMONY amp, a battery op jobbie called Model 4060A. Look it up on the Web for details about the amp.
