Written by Diane Sanabria Diane Sanabria, Banjo; Michael Daves, Guitar; David Wertman, Bass. Howie Bursen's great clawhammer banjo playing inspired this tune. I wrote it in the beginning of the twenty-first century using the five string clawhammer right hand picking technique. I now think it is really a 4 string tenor or plectrum jazz tune played clawhammer style. "Howie's Hop", like my banjo playing, is a true musical hybrid.
