Thanks. The dog reference is to Disney's animated character with the same name of the planet. Due to copyright issues, I couldn't use his image, so I use our dog Vern's, who has since passed and is now my logo. I wrote the tune at about the time Pluto was unjustly declassified as a planet, and was going for the mood you describe.
My new profile picture is in keeping with the style of my new CD, "Spiffy!". I used iPhoto on my Mac for the effects. I even had the Mac take my picture. Look up "Spiffy!" on Amazon and the same photo is mixed among some genuinely antique photos in the liner notes image.
