Love this song! I let my wife listen to this after I recorded it and she said, "that song is terrible" - she then told me she was referring to the lyrics and not the playing. Song includes clawhammer banjo (standard G tuning down a half step in F#), guitar (tuned dadgad), and vocals

A complete band sound, sensitive, poignantly beautiful. Most impressive, Travis. When are you going on tour?!

Certainly as good as, if not better than, Richie Stearns and the Evil City String Band's version of the song/tune. A clear winner. Particularly like the interesting texture provided by your using DADGAD tuning for the backup guitar.
