it has steel light strings
Also the thick block rim and neck, as well as no knot style tail piece adds to the sustain .

I don't know this song yet, but it sounds like a nice one to learn. That's interesting that you use steel strings. You do get a nice bass sound with them. Do you ever use nylgut? I'm contemplating using them on the cello banjo, but since the original steel wound strings cost so much, I'm waiting to try.

I had italian made aquila nyguts on orginally but snagged two strings on the 5th due to the sharp edges on the tuner and sidn't want to break anothr nygut string...
