This is from Wade Ward. I learned it from my pal Lo Gordon. We play it as a duet with one of us starting on the melody and the other on the harmony part so that it swaps the parts back and forth between us. Open D in 2-finger style

Hello Chip,
You know that Lo and I recorded a duet of this tune for my next CD--we should have put you on it as a trio. It's probably not too late if you are interested--we should be in Cashiers some in July and could probably record some at the log cabin. :)
love,
Mary Z

Mary, we could get up to Cashiers easily and it would be an honor to do that. Let's work it out as the time nears.

Great tune, Chip. I'm trying to add some tunes in open D tuning and had started learning this one as tabbed by Ken Perlman. Yours is much more interesting (to my ears, anyway), so I'm going to give it a try. Thanks!

I fall in love with this song (and your treatment) every time I hear it anew.
