This guy plays with metal fingerpicks and a plastic thumbpick. I think so, because: As you can hear the first note (last note m.2:1st string open - middle) is bright, the second (first note m.3: 3rd string open - thumb) is rather dull and the third (second note m.3: 3rd string open - index) is bright again.
