I like this as a study, too. I suppose this is a 'Melodic' style play although I don't know why. As a teacher, could you explain what is 'Melodic Banjo'. It would be a real contribution to the site, I think.

Listening back to it, it's not really 'melodic' style in the strict sense of the word, usually meaning playing scale lines on alternating strings. There's quite a lot of 'single string' playing in there as well, often used to lead me in and out of chords or to lead me up to a melody note. Ultimately what I'm trying to do is be able to play what I hear in my head, which is always related to the chords and melody of the tune.
