Genre: Ragtime / Playing Style: Classic
A fun solo by Emile Grimshaw which includes the Scottish classics "Highland Laddie" and "Annie Laurie". I've only heard two recordings of this one -- one by Olly Oakley, who played the entire thing very fast and with his typical rhythmic flair, and another by Charles Mansell, who slowed down for the Annie Laurie part. I play it "Oakley style" throughout and at full speed -- even though "Annie Laurie" does sound a bit comical played fast! This style of playing is known as Classic Banjo.
