Nice playing There Jason! Prefered The first part of the tune sound wise,second time around it seem not as bright. could I be wrong?

There is definitely a distinct difference, Ian. Tonal flavors are always challenging to put into words. I would call the second one more "tubby" sounding, for lack of a better description.

Jason........ nice. How long had the original head been on the banjo from the first part. From my experience, it is tough to get an accurate comparison of heads until the second one "weathers in". Is the second head brand new, or used.

Dave--thanks! Both heads were well settled-in. The mylar head had been on for a couple of years, the skin head for about 4 months, so they both were "seasoned." For what it's worth, the skin head did take awhile to settle in tonally, and I almost gave up on it several times, but it finally woke up.
