Legacy

Old Alfred Tucker
He’s long gone
He built this toll road
We’re traveling on

He’d rather build roads
Than dig for ore
But he found his own gold mine
That’s for sure

Old John Eslick
He’s cashed in
He built this house
That we’re sitting in

He was a master
With brick and stone
He made many monuments
All alone

Old Alfred Tucker
Old Uncle John
They left a legacy
That lives on

Some of their names
Were forgotten long ago
Some of their great deeds
We’ll never know

But something glimmers
In their grandchildren’s eyes
Forgotten but not gone
Their legacy survives
