Nine months in but this was a real struggle. I picked something that was easy and short but I still have a lot of trouble playing a song all the way through without errors. It was the same when I played classical piano. It'll be easier when I can play MY music (or I can make these songs my own).

Sounds good to me. Everyone comes along at different rates and I think you're doing fine for nine months. You don't say how often you practice, try keeping the banjo easy to see and grab whenever you relax for a while. You'll always see people turning up on here ripping a tune up after only playing a few weeks, but that's not the norm, so carry on as you are Ted and it'll soon be coming together great.
All the best.
