Saw, I use double D tuning. I play the tune in D major and D minor, up the neck and down low. It's easy to shift into the minor with double D tuning--mostly you just back up your fingers by one fret. The up the neck stuff is different though. I think I played part of this with chords rather than single notes. I'm happy to try to answer any more questions you might have.
