From the collection called "Now That's a Good Tune: Masters of Missouri Fiddling" this tune was learned from Bill Katon (1864 - 1934) by Bob Walters who taught Cyril Stinnett who taught Charlie Walden. I'm learning about these venerated Missouri fiddlers and you can hear all the tunes on the Slippery Hill website.

Thanks for leaving a comment. I understand there's another tune of Bill Katon's in a Missouri fiddle book by Christeson, which I don't have. Bill Katon was African-American, died over 80 years ago, and still influences old-time music being passed around today.
