Here's another tune heard from the great Alabama fiddler James Bryan. Per usual, he makes it sound so good I just need to try it. The story behind the title is that Missouri fiddler John Jones was walking home with his children after playing for a dance, humming this new tune, and their lantern fell in the ditch. They walked the rest of the way in the dark.
