The Kilnamona Barn Dance/Father Kelly’s No. 1–Traditional. On our last trip to Ireland, while we were touring around County Clare, we spied a sign at a turnoff road in a very rural area—Kilnamona 1 km. We were working on this music at the time and directly proceeded to Kilnamona, which consisted of a small country crossroads with only an elementary school and yes, on the opposite side, a little way down, there it was. The Barn! We chose Father Kelly’s No. 1, a lively reel, to medley with the barn dance. The contrast between the two, highlights the many dimensions of Irish traditional dance music.
