From the playing of Dwight Diller, this old-time Tune of the Week is one I've heard, but not tried. It was nice learning from a video of Dwight recently playing the tune at a slow tempo. It's one of the tunes taught to our TOTW presenter, Andy Fults, at the first music camp he attended with Dwight.

Tailor made for your laid back style Ms. Janet. I don’t know how you do it, but your “implied” notes have as much impact as the ones you actually play! Please don’t ask me to explain this...I know what I (don’t) hear, but I’m not sure I can put it into words. John Hartford knows what I mean ; )

Thanks, Greg. You’re musically so astute. There are several skipped notes, which Adam likes to call “ghost notes.” If you listen to Dwight, it’s his arrangement. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of them in John Brown’s March. He often uses the full bum-ditty clawhammer rhythm with a “cluck” on the “dit,” where I often will put a slipped note. In other words, play no note, but do the clawhammer motion above the strings.
