Ok so I have only been playing a few months and this is my first recording. It it pretty sloppy and I did not tune my banjo before playing (oops!)... so don't be harsh!

Erin, you're doing fine for having played a few months. Your Kitchen Girl has a steady tempo and sings the melody pretty well. (It's not a bunch of licks stitched together the way the tab indicated, in other words.) You also wisely picked a tempo that was comfortable for you rather than trying to play too fast. A good decision. The banjo is a little out of tune and you can correct that next time. As for any flubs, you kept going without losing any of the momentum of the tune. That's good. You are listening more closely to your mistakes than the rest of us. My recordings often sound better to me a few weeks later when I can hear them more like it was the first time.

Erin, you sound really good! I get the record-button-nerves too, you're not alone. You are making great progress. Thanks for sharing it with us! Can't wait to hear more :)

That's not bad at all. I have the same problem when I record, my fingers start to work backwards. You did really well.

Yeah, everyone gets the "record button yipps"... the important thing is that you are in there doing it. I don't think they ever go away completely but they do subside to the point where you can enjoy playing for other people. You sound good keep it up.
