Genre: Old Time / Playing Style: Clawhammer and Old-Time
This old time tune was composed by California clawhammer picker Curt Bouterse. I learned it from Ed, who is playing his Ome. capoed up 2 in double C tuning. I am using my new Ode, in open D.

Hi Don-I have played this tune for ages-learned in the late 70's while living in California-not sure from who-maybe Curt. I always wondered who the tune maker was! Beautiful and you really have the essence of the tune. We will play this together sometime I hope!

I think that's the finest banjo duet I've ever heard. Outstanding! I can't listen to your playing too much of I'll be splitting my time between bluegrass and old time. I hope "old time" isn't an insult. I'm afraid, and a little ashamed, I couldn't tell you the difference between the styles outside of the bluegrass/newgrass genre. I know I like this though.

Your were advising me how we both seem to like the same type of tone/sustain etc from our banjos. I think this song of yours is a great example of that.
It sounds as if you have two seperate banjo recordings/tracks being played back, or did you create a delay and use the same track? It's a great song, and mix.

The other banjo picker is Ed Britt, playing clawhammer style. We use my Tascam USB interface plugged into my laptop. Two mic inputs. I split each banjo about 80/20 between the two tracks when I mix down, plus the natural mix of the room.
