More About Me
Hi! I am a clawhammer banjo teacher who helps players learn and refine their skills in the Rochester, NY area. I play and record music professionally and am always in the process of learning myself. You may have seen me play in banjo demo videos made by the Bernunzio Uptown Music store. I also teach at the local Hochstein School of Music and Dance. In recent years I've become obsessed with the fiddle. I picked it up to play along with my banjo students, but as I've learned the fiddle, I've gotten back in touch with what it's like to learn an instrument from scratch! I've developed my own way of teaching intro clawhammer techniques, focusing primarily on rhythm. And I always stress the joy of playing music with others, and try to focus on those skills most of all. Whether you're just starting out, or you're stuck in your progress, I'd love to share a few miles on your clawhammer journey with you.
