Fred, I see where you were discussing Bill Holden last year and talked to him. I knew him well then. And I like to think I
Played a part in getting Pinewood recorded. Do you know if he's on banjohangout?
Hi Sue, Unfortunately Bill does not have a computer and I haven't heard from him in a long time.
I'll send any updates as soon as I (hopefully) hear from him again.
I'd recommend you check out and subscribe to the Bill Holden topic http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/321271 where I'll post updates.

After the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association's Bill and the Belles
concert last Sunday, I was supposed to be packing up when I heard some
jamming, so I grabbed my GoPro and ran in to find Korey Brodsky, Sofía J
Chiarandini, Karl Zerfas, Mike Sassano, and Grace Van't Hof.
I'm in a throwback mood tonight, and thinking how honored I am to have this topic made a Sticky and hoping I can continue to deserve that status.
Here are a couple of my most treasured recordings, especially including banjoist heroes of mine...
This one from 1969 with Allen Shelton: http://frobbi.org/audio/walker.html
This one from 1973 with Alan Munde and Bill Keith: http://frobbi.org/audio/culpeper.html
Please help yourself to my collection for much more: http://frobbi.org/picking.html
Thanks for so many years and friends here on the Hangout!

Thanks to Becca Berline, there's a brand new YouTube channel from longtime friend Byron Berline....

As of this writing there are 2 videos and more on the way. I'm proud to be the first to subscribe.
I'd encourage you to subscribe too, because Becca just old me, "He has so many stories..." !!!
I've already added a link to my recordings page http://frobbi.org/picking.html in the From My Friends section.

The Steel Wheels visited the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association for the first time and delivered
a great performance. Here is Set 1, with Set 2 coming in the near future.
Earlier than expected, I have the second installment of The Steel Wheels' first visit to the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association, and it has quite a start.
The third installment (of 4) from the Grey Fox Berklee College of Music Showcase is by another top-shelf young band,
Damn Tall Buildings..
Based on the shows I usually record, this one brings to mind the Monty Python quote,
"And now for something completely different." But I have to add to that, "...and lots of fun!"
It's also special for us since Kalia Yeagle is a longtime friend and member of the HVBA.
And she brought along three equally gifted musicians.
Looking forward to seeing these folks at Grey Fox this summer!

Fred--thanks so much for posting the Gibson Brothers concert from last year. I've really come to enjoy their music over the last 7-8 years; they are one of the finest groups playing today. Appreciate their songs about their home area; got to know the area near there along the St. Lawrence Seaway as part of my work with the Coast Guard, so I knew some of its history. I'd love to see them in person some time. However, I live in a bluegrass flyover area (way NW Florida), so my opportunities to see any nationally touring group is rare. The closest the Gibsons come to my area is 9-10 hours away .As we do travel some. I'm hoping one of our trips will be timed right to catch up with them. I hope you record and post more of their concerts as you're able. Thanks again,
Steve
Here's another "...something completely different". At our Bill and the Belles concert, Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association president David Angell talked with Kalia Yeagle and Kris Truelsen. Subjects were East Tennessee State University 's Bluegrass, Oldtime, & Country Music program; performing at this year's Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival and Oldtone Roots Music Festival; and Kris' "Farm & Fun Time" show on WBCM - Radio Bristol.

I've tried to improve the color of this video. The content is exactly the same as the original.
Finally, the "something completely different" Set 2 from Bill & The Belles at the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association,
even more fun than Set 1, if that's possible...
Presenting the last (of 4) top-shelf groups from the Berklee College of Music Showcase as part of the Grey Fox Emerging Artist Showcase...
