Fun so far, IMO (I write this at 7:15a on Moving Day). A bit surprised to see that Dechambeau missed the cut, but the rest of the field makes sense... the weather so far has been perfect and looks to stay that way, and the course is its usual gorgeous self.
Rory currently stands at -12, a full six shots clear. The remarkable thing to me is that he's playing with easy confidence and looks completely comfortable, unlike previous years. It's like he's saying "you don't scare me no more."
Gonna be a good sports watching day. Gotta get my outside stuff done early, because I'm planning to spend much of the afternoon flipping between golf and l'hockey.
Have loved golf all my life, but there is just something special about the Masters. Tradition, signaling spring, well for most, the best of the best, and my yearning for a pimento cheese sandwich!!! Never had one.
Skip, I concur with your thoughts on Rory, he does look confidently relaxed .
My father has passed, but his favorite was always Bubba ( because he looked just like his doctor) and loved his watch collection. He’s sporting a 2.5 million dollar Richard Mille this year . More than most people’s NET worth dangling on his wrist!!!
I love watching some of the behind the scenes clips on coarse care , history of Augusta and traditions. And , as always, love to see Jack and Tom teeing off along with (not my favorite) Gary Player. I sure miss Arnold and a few others that have passed. I believe Tigers presence is missed also, and they sure have not mentioned him very much.
Enjoy some great golf everyone, and Goooooooooo Rory!!!
Slammer!!!
I like it that Augusta National, as a private club, makes the rules associated with the tournament and enforces them at their disgression. They are the judge, jury, and executioner for their rules. All judgments are final.
They have a strict "no cell phone" policy on the grounds. Mark Calcavecchia, a former winner, was removed from the course by security on Tuesday when they caught him making a phone call on his cell phone.
Got home from the store just to see Shane Lowry hit a hole in one…….again!!!
It’s his 2nd at a Masters!!! Wow, just wow. I’ve had 2 hole in ones myself and one of them I was golfing with my dad , uncle and son. They used to hear about it all the time………thanks to me!!! It’s quite a feeling!!!
Slammer!!!
eagleisland
Nice going Skip!!! Lmao
I think I pooped a little watching this today when the tables turned!!!
Tomorrow should be amazing, and I’m not talking hockey!!! You better record the main event, as it’s gonna be a good one………I’m hoping!!!
Slammer!!!

LIV is only done if the backers choose it to be. they have unlimited funds behind it . so it may be a while,, but i do see others coming. but it will be hard on them ,, for one thing the courses they are playing are set up for low scores and then come back to PGA courses is tough on most of them. second they must donate 5 million to a charity in the deal. and no sponsor exemptions allowed either.

Terrific tournament once again. I was there all day Thursday, one of my favorite days to go since you get to see the entire field (before the cut). I like watching on TV Saturday and Sunday.
Here is a nice Links Magazine article about my old boss, George Cobb and his involvement at the Augusta National Golf Club. I helped Mr. Cobb there for 5 years, as mentioned in the article.

Very cool. Also very cool to learn about some of the behind-the-scenes scrums about sculpting that magnificent place.
Yesterday, for me, was all about hockey - seeing the Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins' AHL affiliate) live, which got us home around 7 pm, and then watching the big club eke out a win over Columbus with a lot of their top guys out on a maintenance day. Fun day.
It IS intriguing that Rory managed to get the W with the same +/- he held at the end of the second round - with some gutsy performances and some good scares thrown in for good measure.
The Masters never disappoints.
