Laurence is ordering nylgut strings? Oh boy, what is this world coming to? I can't wait to hear the sounds he pulls out of those! They sure sound gorgeous in Eric's playing!
Eric says (on the Ghillie Dhu thread):
"My Goodtime is strung with Nylgut, and I’m using a hybrid 3-finger technique, with picks on my fingers (in this case modified Joel Hooks thimbles) that allow for both plucking up and striking down, but no pick on my thumb. This gives me a bit more flexibility with melodies, and pinches, but also easy downward brushes."
chuckv97 wrote, "Very nice,, your articulation reminds me of a classical guitar approach."
I agree, a background in classical music shines through these original pieces.
So Eric please tell us what is your musical background?
