I have a Deering Goodtime openback 5-string. I think it's an older Artisan (banjo tuners instead of guitar tuners, dark walnut stain, traditional headstock shape). Thinking of getting a retrofit kit for resonator. Deering looks like they're out of them. Anyone know where I can find one or anyone have one for sale?

I see there's one made by Gary Sosebee in Georgia. Anyone know about these and if they work well? looks unfinished.

I’ve tried the sosebee kit and it sucked. It’s just a flat plate, screwed to a co-rod mount, and some wood block spacers to create a small gap between the plate and rim.

Have you contacted Deering? According to the Deering website, the kits are made to order and take 10-15 days to get them. I got one last year, and it works great.

I haven't called them yet. Good idea. They show it's only avail. for the 6 string Goodtime.
