A few months ago a customer asked if I had any raw brass Presto tailpieces. Though I was not planning to initiate new products as I make my business smaller in preparation for retirement , when chatting with my supplier she assured me that it could be done quickly and the cost would be the same as the nickel plated Prestos I've stocked for years.
So I took the bait and now have Raw Brass Presto Copy Tailpieces in stock and for sale at $26. The only part that is not raw brass is the "tensioning" screw. As nearly everyone that uses a Presto takes them out, I was not bothered by the nickel plated screw.

When are you planning on retiring Bob? When you do, that would make it problematic for me to obtain heads etc.
I am in phase one of retirement. I no longer accept repair work (other than minor local repairs) and I am not aggressive about new inventory. I plan to continue replenishing parts inventory until 2028. At that point I will continue to sell what I have in stock until it is gone.
Wayne, I do appreciate your once a year orders for the banjo parts that are not available in New Zealand, but the time when I will close completely will be here before we realize it.

I did not expect raw brass Presto tailpieces to be as popular as they have been. In less than a week I have sold more than half the order I received. I guess I better order some more!
