Thanks guys, well delivery went till the last minute before I had to leave tonight, but then it came...whew!! What a gorgeous instrument! Chuck Ogsbury is still active even after selling Ome to Gold Tone, and turning out some beauty! I'm stoked to have a great sounding, looking, and feeling banjo again,,,and, it's light! PTL ! Aloha

Of course, I looked at the different Starr banjos, did that before too. Quite a variety of banjos. Which model did you acquire, Pastor Harry?
Oh buddy, The USPS website lets you track the truck now. So you can watch them drive all around your house then clear across the county to another town before driving back to drop off your package. I discovered this once while waiting for an old Slingerland to be delivered. Watched the truck drive straight past my house. Thought they were going to turn around and come back... waited, waited, waited... Got online to see what the heck was going on. The truck was in one town over that is semi-famous locally for having a bunch of antique shops. I guess they told him it wasn't worth too much, because after bouncing from shop to shop for a couple hours he brought it back and dropped it off.
I got a Starr 12” with maple. I really like it. I ended up getting a lower bridge. Stock was 9/16 and I went to 1/2”, made the action a lot nicer for me. I also replaced the 5th string pip for a little higher one.
I couldn’t get used to the side scoop so I had a full scoop put in. Only removed about 1/2 the fingerboard thickness and filled the remains fret slots with maple. Looks stock from a distance.
And finally I replaced the no knit tailpiece with a pisgah hawk tail. It really brought it to life!
