I have a friend here who is considering a KnK double pickup for banjo. There is one music shop in my area which sells them. If anyone of you have this in your instrument, does it need and equalizer or other device between it and an amp or sound system?
The product manual for the Banjo Twin works well in the passive mode (without a preamp). However it also says that should a preamp be necessary, buy theirs. I have never used this pickup. I have installed the Pure Mini on several guitars and none of them have needed a preamp.
I picked up a generic 3 pickup piezo and installed on the back of the head. I use my KK belt preamp with it or sometimes Baggs Venue and pedal board. I have the Pure Mini in my D18.
