Interesting. A ten string guitar and it looks like he wasn’t doing a Johnny Cash.

Huddie Ledbetter was a brilliant musician who deserved so much more recognition during his lifetime. He worked his tail off, leaving the world with dozens of great original songs and had some of the greatest folk musicians of the era as his friends and supporters. I've had a photo of Lead Belly on my music room wall for decades and he still brings me inspiration daily. Thank goodness for the Smithsonian, Moses Asch, and Folkways Records that the world has such a rich archive of his work!

Yes, artificial something. All the perfect components of the entire story are in the picture, like something you'd see on the cover of the old Saturday Evening Post.
