I am looking for suggestions on storing tabs on an iPad and having a contents page that hyperlinks to each song tab. Guitar Center suggests four score. It is a lot of horsepower for this simple task. So, following questions:
1. Suggested app to store tabs
2. Any commercial, simple way to accomplish the above?
3. I spoke with Deering and they had no familiarity with the above product or any other but after my comment, they are looking
Appreciate any help I can get
I have an iPad Pro and use FourScore to keep all my tabs. I've used it for about two years and am quite happy with it. Although banjo is my favorite instrument, I am primarily a mountain dulcimer player. I currently have about 2,000 tabs on the iPad. Many are duplicate titles with different tunings. I create separate tab lists for each group I belong to as one group plays primarily in one tuning and the other group plays primarily in another tuning. I can find all the songs in a particular tuning by searching for that tuning. I can view alphabetical tab lists for each group. A feature I really like is the ability to create play lists. I can create a play list for our weekly group because we decide ahead of time what tunes we will play. It makes it easy to scroll the songs for that gathering. The search feature is easy to use and I usually have the tab in front of me before others turn to the tune in their notebooks of tab. It is easy to add tab to FourScore either by scanning it in, downloading it from a website or email. or having it shared by AirDrop. I use a page tuner switch I found on Amazon which is basically a foot switch that can go forward or backward. It connects to the iPad via Bluetooth. I think FourScore is a good way to organize my music.
I also use forScore and find it versatile and easy to use for all the reasons Kenneth mentioned. I don’t know what the cost is now, but when I installed it about 4 years ago, it was only $20. That’s a one-time purchase, not an ongoing subscription fee. At that price it shouldn’t matter much if it has more horsepower than you need. Use as much of it as you need and ignore the rest. The Bluetooth pedal to turn pages is the same device my professional cello-playing friend uses.
Thank you. That is very useful. I understand the deals well with existing tabs providing they are PDFs. Can a person have an index where you can click on a song and have it come up and not have to scroll through all of the various tabs that are on the app? I have heard that you cannot create tabs on it and at least at this time that’s not an issue for me.

Yes, it indexes by title as a default, but you can add indexes by key, genre, composer, or almost an infinite variety of other attributes. Yes, you can download pdfs, but you can also scan any hard copy music you have using the iPad's built in camera. Correct, you cannot create tabs on it. If you create tabs on another device, you can Airdrop them to your iPad if it's an Apple device, or print and scan.

I use an app called MobileSheets (I'm Windows/Android but it is available for MacOS and ios). I use it to display my pdf Tab scores but also Notation (any pdf file, jpegs, etc.). It has a variety of paging options. I use a bluetooth foot-pedal to turn pages.
The main database is sorted alpha but you can alter that sort, there's a search function you can customize by field. You can set up the index/table of contents just about any way you want. I'm currently storing 1800+ pieces. User sorts can be set up in a wide variety of ways. I tend to use the "recent" tab to quickly access tunes I'm working on.

It sounds like it is functionally identical to forscore...but works across more platforms. If I were ios based, I'd probably go with forscore.
I pair my 12.9" ipad pro with a stomp mini page turner and forscore (ditto all the features already shared by others!)
