Just got back from 5 nights , six days on the Beautiful shores of Lake Superior in Grand Marais, Mi. 2 hours northeast of home. Weather could have been worse, and warmer (glad we had winter gear) but not terrible and didn’t ruin any of our excursions!!! It’s a gorgeous little town and an annual visit for us. Not to mention that fresh off da boat Lake Superior Whitefish and sunset views!!!

Nice pics. Camping is off to a s-l-o-w start here .... cool, windy, cloudy, rain/drizzle. Have been out twice at 2 days per. But, but, but, I've been working on [singing] "There's Better Times A'Coming."
Have yet to test the "portable power source" that we've added to our "stuff" ... if my calculations are right it should run the [bar] fridge for about 4 nights without needing recharging .... our "ultra-quiet" Generac generator makes 'way more noise than do Hondas ... so, though we've had no complaints about running it at night, this should continue to make for happy campers.
Talk about a slow start……it was 41 degrees F in the mornings and got up to 54. Not bad, right? Then add the cold wind off Lake Superior and in 15 minutes pickin rocks on da beach, I was wishing I had my ice fishing suit on.
Never had Chili camping before, but glad we had some left in the freezer to take along. Oh, and fishing stunk!!!
Slammer!!!
But, but, but, Dow ... if we wait too long around here it'll soon be winter.
Each spring I see guys building fences, replacing roofing/siding etc., etc. and dismiss it with: "Come on youse guys ... what's the rush?!?!?" And before ya know it the stuff I could be doing is being put off 'til next year. Having said that, about a month back I bought the driveway sealer and deck stain; now I can act ...... if/when the urge strikes.
We usually camp for a few days each summer/fall in Grandview [an hour+ N.E. of here]. We usually take a site pretty much in the center of the pic. Fwiw, that's the woodshed in the lower left quadrant. [Also fwiw, they have/supply the best firewood that we've encountered in campgrounds ... e-a-s-y to split straight-grained Jack-pine... probably from the Duck Mountains a bit north of town.]
