Holy cow it worked like a charm! My old Gumby tuners were sloppy like most cheapo guitar tuners, and I decided before I replace them, I’d try something. So I took them apart, and squeezed them just enough to tighten things up. Now they are tight, with no slop! The metal is surprisingly soft, so this was a very easy fix, and you can make them as tight as you want, by how far you bend the little hooks. But it doesn’t take much. And I have to admit, it’s oddly satisfying to keep the old Gumby all original.
