100 years ago today the man who defined what bluegrass fiddling is all about was born. Kenny Baker.
Think ill learn a Baker Fiddle tune in his honor today. Any suggestions?

Just don’t be the banjo player that plays E minor during Cross Eyed Fiddler which is in the key of E major

Below is a YouTube video from the Country Family Reunion series in which Kenny plays Jerusalem Ridge.  He was getting on in years when the video was made, but he could still nail it!  His intonation was flawless.

I always liked Washington County. That’s one that could be played Scruggs style.

The best, imho, of all the bluegrass fiddlers,, and that’s taking nothing away from the other greats like Hicks, Berline, Buchanan, Cleveland, etal. I was fortunate to have seen him as a Blue Grass Boy in 1975, with Bob Black on banjo who also contributed to one or more of Kenny’s albums.

I saw them in Ontario, Canada ;  I guess they were doing the British Empire tour..... I believe Queen Litzy was fond of William Monroe.  Were you at this concert?  (Bill says "Ioway" when introducing Bob)
