I posted about this months ago, but not many came forward to say they're attending. With camp just a week away, thought I'd ask again who's going and whether we can meet even for a minute or two to say hi and put a face to these online words. We might even be in the same group. I'm Walnut this year.

Hi Ken, I think I responded to a couple of your previous BRBC posts. I am in Ebony this year. I will try and hunt you down and say hello, maybe we will get some jamming in.

How are you doing with the concert parts? Last night I finally got the timing right for the ending of Strawberry Fields.
My practice has not been very focused. I sit down at my computer with the tab and audio but then I get distracted and do other stuff.
I'm going to be on the road Monday and Tuesday. So by the time of out first rehearsal Wednesday morning, I will not have touched my banjo for over two days. Oh, well. Not to worry. I saw someone's Ebony schedule from last year and there's rehearsal every day, including the day-of.

Yes, I think you did, Clint.
Have you been to BRBC before? The jamming is great. Mountain Song Productions, who works with Bela to put on the camp, is also the managing company for Steep Canyon Rangers. Brevard is their home base. In 2018, members of the band were there for the jams and sometimes for breakfast the next day! Got to play with Woody Platt and Nicky Sanders.
Some of the stuff was played at the fastest tempos I can keep up with. But speeds at which I couldn't much more than roll on chords and do my most basic licks. And I was still in my 60s. At 75, I don't think I'll be staying up too late to jam or keeping up when the playing gets really fast.

I'm hoping to attend a camp there in Brevard, I've heard awesome things about it, maybe next year. I gotta believe the fall colors are beautiful

Yes, this will be my 5th year. I have a great group of folks that I jam with every year. We try and pick some songs before camp so that we all have like music to jam on. Yes, there are a couple jams that happen that are way above my speed :).
