Sound

This is a beautiful banjo, powerful volume, bright and a lovely bit of sustain. It has a brilliant Lange archtop tone ring, the best kind I've ever seen, The neck is wonderfully slender and easy to move around, and vibrates when its being played.

Sound Rating: 10

Setup

Set up was fine, nice action beutifully slim neck, all in all the easiest playing banjo ive ever held

Setup Rating: 10

Appearance

The inlay work is great, theres even engraving on the inlays. Carved heel, the banjo is mahogany, all brass parts except the tensioners which appear to be mild steel, and all metal parts are all nickel plated.

Appearance Rating: 10

Reliability

All parts are origional except the skin, bridge and strings Its still got fully working page figure 8 tuners, hotdog armrest and paramount tailpiece...its all lasted since 1928, so i cant really complain! some wearing of the finish on the wood, though no more than expected. some binding missing on the resonater. i would use it anywhere without a backup.

Reliability Rating: 10

Customer Service

they aint around, but its still fine working since 1928 and will probably still be around long after im not!

Customer Service: not rated

Components

The tone ring, and beautiful neck, i wouldn't change a thing....well maybe the tuners.... if they break to some grovers

Components Rating: 10

Overall Comments

i'd reccommend this banjo at any price! I love it, and will keep it forever. The only banjo I ever played that sounds anywhere near as good is a 1930's epiphone recording, which is structurally a bit stronger (steel reinforced neck) and the same Lange tone ring.

Overall Rating: 10
