Hi,

I came across the RUBICON MAPLE COMBO banjo at Fingerstyle Productions I'm looking for an open back banjo to play bluegrass on, and this one caught my eye.

However, the only reference to this banjo is by Fingerstyle Productions, and Terry Cook seems unGoogle-able.

Anyone played/own on of these banjos? Any feedback?

	peter somerville says: 7/2/2015 5:36:12 AM hi Duncan, I haven't heard of the builder, but appears locally made in Australia. i'd be contacting Wendy Holman at finger style and ask her about it. I can't see a tone ring in the pictures so wonder if it would have the punch you want for bluegrass. So 'for playing bluegrass on an open back i'd be looking for one with a bluegrass tone ring if you want that sound. I recently bought myself a nechville open back (with tubaphone tone ring) and it's good for bluegrass but more than double the price of this one. good luck, peter s
