I just want to re-post this link that Steve Davis posted in one of the forums a few weeks ago. It gives a good update about Jimmy Cox, and gives a feeling about why the Bluegrass people in Maine think so highly of him.

I was fortunate to see Jim a few weeks ago, and he is absolutely going strong. He had recently returned from the IBMA Awards Festival; he came back with a number of orders for his top-of-the-line banjos. He recently took delivery on a load of select hardwood for more banjos and banjo parts.
While I was at Jim's shop I saw an advance copy of a book that is basically Jim's autobiography. It has not been completely edited, but should make some fine reading for those of us who are interested in the life of a first-generation Bluegrass legend, or the story of a man who left his roots in rural Kentucky and found a full life in our own great state of Maine.
