I have seen a lot of materials used on flesh hoops. What do YOU use and how do you make them? Is there a source for the square stock material for hoops? LEE

	jbalch says: 4/29/2012 6:36:24 AM I use 1/8" square brass stock purchased from: onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?...op_cat=79 The four foot length is sufficient to roll either an 11" or 12" hoop. A harbor freight ring roller is great to roll the square stock into a nice ring.
	Pluckin Mutha says: 4/29/2012 6:46:01 AM I've used a wire coat hanger in the past (1970 and it's still on my Stewart. I've also used brassbrazing rod which was in the garage for over 10 years and the flux came of with the cganges of humidity and temperature.

It was 1/8" square brass stock ...perfectly round ...brazed at the joint ... and nickel plated. What amazing attention to detail to nickel plate a totallly hidden part like flesh hoop.
	Hairymare says: 4/30/2012 7:39:00 AM On the last one I did and this comes with the disclaimer that I have put on the hide heads with the various instructions I have found on the web, I used the rim off of the remo head I was replacing. I cut the old plastic head off and sanded the rim which looks like a channel of aluminum filled with something and used it as a flesh hoop and it worked.

	vintagewells says: 5/20/2012 2:26:30 PM The latest flesh hoop I used was a ring from the bottom of a lampshade. I cut it to fit the tension hoop and just stuck the ends in a small section of a plastic coffee stir straw to keep the ends even. The tension hoop was from another lampshade. THe flesh hoop was round in cross section, and the tension hoop was rectangular. I really like these as they were freebies via the dumpster and the metal is springy. Another found object I use for the flesh hoops is those rings I find in the street that were intended to keep hubcaps on but fail to do so. I use brass tubing to keep the ends together.
