my big mistake

From Tuneweaver on 6/28/2012 2:35:05 PM

Even after telling others to make sure that the head is dry before making any movement to it, I failed to wait long enough.  I thought the head was dry but upon removing it I noticed that the area where it overlaps itself around the flesh hoop was still damp.  I should have know better.   I just wanted to readjust the position of the tone ring.  I should have waited another day or so.  Don't let this happen to you.  LEE

What happened then?

I waited another 24 hours before spraying it with Thompson's Waterproofing and tightening. It turned out fine. If I had tried to tighten it while it was still wet in some areas, those wet areas would have stretched but not the top of the head. At least that is what I think would have happened.
