Boil Them Cabbage Down

From Linda Horton on 7/13/2011 6:15:52 AM

Can anyone tell me what DVD Boil them Cabbage Down is on, both the high and low breaks? I had nearly all of the Videos from years ago and then in last couple of years upgraded to the DVD's (don't have a VCR anymore) and I couldn't find either break on the ones I have. I remember the low break but don't remember the high one--it's been YEARS since I practiced these beginning songs, but I'm back now and want to try it again.

Linda, those two lessons are on our "Banjo for Misfits" DVD.

Uh oH! I think that's the ONLY "upgrade" I haven't done to DVD yet!! Wouldn't ya know it!! And my next goal was the Learning to Hear Chord Changes! Guess I'll skip that one for now and move on to the next one! Thanks for the info--I knew it had to be there somewhere.

Thanks. I am! "After laying off the banjo for a year and moving from Calif. to Nashville, I'm going back to the beginning and starting over (sort of). My problem is I've been trying way too long to learn this thing ALONE!! I had a WONDERFUL, in-person lesson with Casey two weeks ago and I have to say she's just as awesome as her Momma! She made me feel right at home, I wasn't nervous at all (well maybe just a little!) and I LEARNED things!! For one, she suggested I list all the songs I know how to play and practice those all the way through (with the lead, the vamping, endings, etc.) so that I can be MORE prepared when I join the local jam session I just started attending a couple times a month. I've mainly just concentrated on the leads at home and now when I get into a jam session I freeze unless I have the chord sheet in front of me---someone else in this group mentioned the same thing. Last night I sat a few minutes and was able to do a pretty dang good job on the "special" vamping on Amazing Grace that Murphy does and I hadn't practiced that in at least 2 years---last week I couldn't even remember how to do it!! So, it's coming back. I'm going to sign up for another lesson with Casey in a couple of weeks or so. I'm gonna learn to REALLY play this dad-gummed thing OR ELSE!!!

I sure wish I lived near them Linda. I would also be taking lesson. The vids work ok for me though. Welcome to the group and have fun.
