I have a chance to pick up a GT-750 at a really low price. This one has a tone ring, a clear head, and a sliding pickup. I don't care about the pickup and would probably change the head. Some questions for this group.
With a 25.5 inch scale and the drone string running full length, would it be best to set this up as an A-scale and tune accordingly, probably with a .009 drone?
Anyone know a good source for a 5+1 bridge?
And the big question, does anyone think that this contraption can sound like a banjo? All the videos that I have heard have sounded awful, but they are playing it like a guitar or maybe a plectrum banjo. I would not know how it would sound until I re-strung it.
Bill
