I play mainly bluegrass with a blend of Scruggs and melodic styles. I first heard bluegrass banjo in 1960 and was immediately and irretrievably hooked. Pete Seeger's book and endlessly listening LP recordings at half speed helped get me going. The latter learning method was clearly passion-driven, a labor of obsession.
