Amateur Night

Last night was Amateur Night for Chinook Learning Services, the people who coordinate the class that I attend ("Banjo Madness"). There are about fifteen of us in Banjo Madness, and thirteen showed up to play at Amateur Night, and to enjoy the performances of the students in Intro to Guitar, Intro to Fiddle, the Advanced Guitar classes, and, of course, Intro to Banjo.

Seven or eight of us played solos, and I stumbled through "Norwegian Wood" in double C. This was my first solo in front of a crowd and I was very shaky. I don't remember much about it other than that people clapped, which either means that it went fine or that people are just naturally polite!

As a group we did a nice version of Buckdancer's Choice, pretty much keeping the tempo throughout - no small trick with 13 banjos and a lone guitar! 1 comment
