I learned to play the 5 string when I was 19...played for 20 years on and off...then scuba diving got in the way with hunting, fishing, hunting, scuba diving and metal detecting land and underwater...also blacksmithing on the side...yes too many hobbies....I was just ok at the banjo for the time I played....now want to take it up again...I hope my muscle memory come back...I first played a harmony banjo...cheap but effective...then went on to a hohner 450 I think it was...a step up...then on to the gold plated top of the line hohner 950 I believe...1100.00 for that...a lot of money in 1981...now I just bought brand new 2015 deering deluxe model that is walnut...just picked up some pics today and I was amazed that my fingers (even at age 60) still remembered all the rolls and so forth...still need to work on my cords and up the neck...
