I am just starting to learn the banjo, playing bluegrass style. My great-grandfather and my papaw and all his brothers were very talented musicians. My best memories are of the family hanging out on the porch while they played. Papaw would try to teach me then, but sadly I blew him off most of the time. Papaw died when I was 15, and I'll regret that the rest of my life. So, now, I'm starting to learn at the age of ...over 40, LOL!!! I want my grandchildren to have the memories that I have, and to nurture their music interests, too.
