I picked up my banjo in October of 2013, and I've only learned the basics so far. To be fair I've only really read the book and watched the dvd that came with it (it was a Savannah starter pack) and learned from tabs online. Not much enthusiasm for the banjo where I come from, but because of that fact it sure is easy to impress the locals. I lead worship at my church once a month with the banjo, and they love it. Kicking up old hymns with a bluegrass flair is always fun to do. I've been a long time subscriber to the BHO newsletter (even have a BHO union hoodie) but I finally decided to join so I can tap into a community that will help me to grow in my playing, and share a few other things I'm working on.
